Task consolidation based power consumption minimization in cloud computing environment

Abstract Cloud Computing is playing a huge role in future technology. Further, with the explosive growth of Internet and cloud computing, several service providers, such as Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, Google, have expanded their data centers rapidly deployed different places around world to deliver various computing services. However, challenges are raised wide spread use environment power consumption, load balance, reliability, scalability, security. This paper tackles consumption problem presents an efficient algorithm, called Task Consolidation based Power Minimization (TCPM), efficiently schedule tasks onto available resources so minimize consumption. In proposed TCPM benefits existing algorithms enhanced incorporated into where best-fit procedure used achieve best possible resource utilization avoid wasting energy. The results algorithm compared other recent FCFS, WWO, MCT using CloudSim toolkit.
